Biography

Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Palestinian physician, infertility specialist, and global peace advocate born and raised in the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Rising from severe poverty, he trained in medicine and specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, later earning a diploma from the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of London and a master's in public health from Harvard University. Abuelaish became the first Palestinian doctor to hold a staff position at an Israeli hospital, working at the Soroka and Sheba medical centers while continuing to serve patients in Gaza.
